Quick answer
Generic Cialis (tadalafil) costs from $1.80 per dose at online programs that include the visit (Rex MD), and about $0.20 per tablet at Cost Plus Drugs with a prescription you already have. Whether you take it daily or as needed changes the monthly bill far more than the per-pill price. Prices checked October 31, 2026.

This page lists every published tadalafil price, what each includes, and the cheapest way to fill it. All ED prices, including sildenafil and compounded options, are on our ED price page.

Generic tadalafil per pill, program by program

Prices are quoted from each program's own page on October 31, 2026. Where a per-dose figure is our arithmetic from a stated total and count, the program's review says so.

Program Lowest per dose Cheapest all-in monthly plan Daily or as needed Visit included?
Rex MD $1.80 (daily) Not published Both; as-needed from $6 Yes
Lemonaid Health $2 Not all in Daily One-time consult on top
Strut Health $2.40 $24 As needed, 10 doses a month Yes
Hims $6 per use $24 Not shown Yes
PeterMD $6.33 Not all in As needed Unclear
Ro $11 Not published As needed; daily price shown without a unit Yes
GoodRx Care Not published $18 Not shown Yes
Hone Health Not published Not all in (membership on top) Not shown On the higher membership

Every row above is FDA-approved generic tadalafil. Compounded tadalafil chews, gummies and combination tablets are left out of this table and labelled on the ED price page.

The drug on its own

Seller Item Price per tablet Pack price What is not included
Cost Plus Drugs Tadalafil 5 mg, 30 tablets $0.20 $5.97 Shipping; your own prescription
Cost Plus Drugs Tadalafil 20 mg, 30 tablets $0.22 $6.69 Shipping; your own prescription

We do not rank Cost Plus Drugs and earn nothing from it: it fills prescriptions but does not write them. A physician who studied telehealth pricing found tadalafil starter packs from direct-to-consumer pharmacies cost several dollars a pill, "and then 33 cents per pill from Cost Plus Drug Company." Daily versus as needed: why the monthly bill differs

Tadalafil is approved for two patterns of use, and your prescriber picks one:

  • As needed, taken before sex. The Cialis label says it "was shown to improve erectile function compared to placebo up to 36 hours following dosing" (DailyMed: Cialis label). You pay per dose, so a few doses a month keeps the bill low even at a higher per-pill price.
  • Once daily, a lower-strength tablet every day. The per-pill price is usually the lowest a program lists, but you buy 30 a month.

The same label also approves tadalafil for the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate. That matters for insurance: a plan that will not pay for ED drugs sometimes covers tadalafil prescribed for that condition.

We do not give doses or schedules. Your prescriber chooses the strength and the pattern.

Programs with prices that need a closer look

  • Ro lists its as-needed generic tadalafil per dose, and its higher strengths cost several times the lowest. Its daily price is shown without saying whether it is per dose or per month, so we do not record it.
  • Hims gives a monthly price paid upfront without the plan length.
  • Hone Health charges a monthly membership on top of the tadalafil price, and the lower membership tier bills consults separately.
  • Lemonaid charges a one-time consult on top of the pill price, which covers a year of refills.

Generic, brand or compounded

Generic tadalafil tablets are FDA-approved copies of Cialis. Branded Cialis costs far more for the same molecule; Rex MD lists it at $29 a dose.

Tadalafil chews, gummies and 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 tablets are compounded. The FDA has told sellers "Compounded drug products are not FDA-approved." (FDA warning letter to BlueChew). If you want the approved product, ask for generic tadalafil tablets by name.

  1. Get the prescription from the program with the lowest all-in price for the pattern you need; see cheapest ED medication.
  2. Ask whether it will send the prescription to a pharmacy you choose. Ro and Lemonaid say they can.
  3. Price the refills at a cash pharmacy. For daily use, the gap between program and cash pharmacy adds up over a year.

Questions

FAQ

How much is generic Cialis per pill online?

From $1.80 per dose at Rex MD, with the visit included. With your own prescription, Cost Plus Drugs lists about $0.20 per 5 mg tablet before shipping.

Is daily tadalafil cheaper than as-needed?

Per pill, usually yes; per month, usually not, because you buy a tablet for every day. Compare the monthly figures in the table above.

Is generic tadalafil the same as Cialis?

It is the same active drug, approved by the FDA as a generic of Cialis. Compounded tadalafil chews and gummies are not FDA-approved.

Which online program has the cheapest tadalafil plan?

GoodRx Care's ED subscription starts at $18 a month, and Strut Health's 90-day generic tadalafil plan works out to $24 a month. Every price is on our [ED price page](/cost/ed).

Can I take tadalafil with heart medicine?

Ask your prescriber. The label warns against combining it with nitrates, and a real program asks about your heart health and medicines before prescribing.

Does insurance cover generic Cialis?

Some private plans do, and coverage can differ when it is prescribed for an enlarged prostate rather than ED. Medicare Part D plans cannot cover ED drugs used for ED. The programs on this page are cash only.
