Below: one table with each program's cutoff, refund rule and minimum term, how to cancel at the big three, and what the pending FTC case against Hims alleges.
Cancellation terms, program by program
Each cell quotes or summarises the program's own terms page, read on October 31, 2026. "Minimum term" means a plan you can be billed for after you cancel.
| Program | How to cancel | Cutoff before the next order | Refund rule | Minimum term | Can the prescription go to your own pharmacy? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BlueChew | Account ("Put On Hold") or email | 24 hours before renewal | No returns on prescription treatments | None stated | Not offered |
| Hims | App, account ("My Subscriptions"), help center or phone | 2 days before renewal processing | No refunds for partly used periods; case by case | Plans paid upfront run to the end of the period | Not stated |
| Strut Health | Account or support | 48 hours before processing | No returns once the prescription leaves the pharmacy | None stated | Yes, but Strut warns it may cost more |
| Ro | Account | Not stated | Not stated | None: "no sign-up fee or cancellation fee" | Yes |
| Rex MD | Care team by phone, email or portal | Not stated | Case by case; full refund if found ineligible | None stated | Not stated |
| Lemonaid Health | Request it from the Lemonaid team | 48 hours before refill processing | All fees non-refundable | None stated | Yes, to a local pharmacy you choose |
| Maximus | Turn off auto-renewal in the member account, or email | Before the term ends | No partial refund on committed plans | 3, 6 and 12 month plans run to the end of the term | Not stated |
| Henry Meds | Patient portal, email or phone | Not stated | Not stated | Multi-month plans may owe the balance | Not stated |

How to cancel Hims
Hims's terms set the deadline in days, not hours: "Your subscription will automatically renew for another subscription period unless you cancel at least two (2) days before the applicable renewal processing date of your subscription." (Hims terms and conditions)
Refunds are at its discretion: "We do not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods, although we may provide refunds on a case-by-case basis in our sole and absolute discretion." (Hims terms and conditions) Many Hims ED prices are paid upfront for the whole plan, so cancelling stops the next charge, not the current one. Our Hims review lists its plans and how each is billed.
- FDA-approved and compounded
- No FDA warning letter found
- No state list published
How to cancel BlueChew
BlueChew has the shortest cutoff we found: "You may cancel anytime through your account by selecting "Put On Hold" or by contacting support@bluechew.com . To avoid your next charge, submit your request at least 24 hours before your renewal date." (BlueChew FAQ) On returns it says: "Unfortunately, BlueChew cannot accept returns for prescription treatments." (BlueChew FAQ)
How to cancel Ro, Strut and Lemonaid
Ro states: "There’s no sign-up fee or cancellation fee; you can start or stop treatment any time." (Ro)
Strut gives a firm notice period: "Subscriptions can be cancelled with 48 hours notice before processing." It adds that "Prescriptions cannot be returned once they leave the pharmacy." (Strut FAQ)
Lemonaid's policy, updated in May 2026, says that for recurring refills "you must request the cancellation at least 48 hours before the applicable renewal or refill processing date" (Lemonaid cancellation policy). Its refund policy says all fees "are non-refundable" (Lemonaid refund policy).
Plans that bill after you cancel
The trap is not the cancel button but the plan length. Henry Meds says: "If you’re on a multi-month plan, you may be required to pay out the rest of your balance unless you’re unable to continue for medical-related reasons as determined by a healthcare provider" (Henry Meds). Maximus is explicit: "Committed multi-month plans continue through the end of the committed term you agreed to at checkout and are not eligible for early termination or a partial refund" (Maximus subscription terms).
Before you pay for 90 days or more, check whether the price is billed upfront and whether a cancelled plan is re-priced. Our list of programs you can cancel any time quotes each one's catch.
What the FTC case against Hims alleges
On July 29, 2026 the FTC, Utah and California sued Hims & Hers. The FTC alleges "that the company has made it difficult for consumers to cancel subscriptions" and that Hims "fails to clearly and conspicuously inform consumers when their prescriptions will be refilled each month, making it difficult to cancel before the next billing cycle" (FTC press release). The FTC says these practices "have violated the FTC Act and the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act". These are allegations in a pending case, not findings.
A broader federal click-to-cancel rule is not in force. In July 2025 a federal appeals court ruled: "we grant the petitions for review and vacate the Rule." (US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, Custom Communications v. FTC) The Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act, which the Hims complaint relies on, was not part of that ruling.
How to avoid a charge you did not want
- Note the renewal date when you order. Most programs show it in your account.
- Cancel in writing, through the account page or by email, and keep the confirmation.
- Cancel early. A 2-day cutoff is easy to miss on a weekend.
- Prefer month to month if you are unsure the drug suits you. Ro, Rex MD and Lemonaid all say you can stop any time.
- Consider your own pharmacy. Lemonaid and Ro can send the prescription out, and a cash pharmacy has no subscription at all; see our Cost Plus Drugs guide.
Questions
FAQ
How do I cancel an ED subscription?
Cancel through the program's account page, app or support email before its cutoff: 24 hours before renewal at BlueChew, 48 hours at Strut and Lemonaid, and 2 days at Hims. Medication that has already shipped is not refunded at any program we checked. Keep the written confirmation in case a charge goes through.
How do I cancel my Hims subscription?
Hims lets you cancel in the app, in your online account under "My Subscriptions", through its help center or by phone. Its terms require cancelling at least two days before the renewal processing date. Refunds for partly used periods are at Hims's discretion.
What is the Hims cancellation policy?
The Hims terms say a subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least two days before renewal processing, and that Hims does not refund partly used periods except case by case. The FTC's pending lawsuit alleges Hims made cancelling difficult; Hims has not been found liable.
Can I get ED meds online with no subscription?
Not as a one-off order from the programs we track, since each sells a renewing plan. Ro, Rex MD and Lemonaid say you can stop any time. The only route with no plan is a cash pharmacy such as Cost Plus Drugs, which needs a prescription you already have.
Will I get a refund if I cancel an ED subscription?
Usually not for medication already shipped. BlueChew accepts no returns on prescription treatments, Strut none once an order leaves the pharmacy, and Lemonaid says its fees are non-refundable. Rex MD refunds in full if a provider finds you ineligible, and handles other requests case by case.
Is the FTC click-to-cancel rule in effect?
No. The Eighth Circuit vacated the FTC's rule in July 2025. Other law still applies: the FTC's case against Hims cites the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act, which prohibits deceptive billing and subscription practices.
