Cost
This page answers one question: where does one dose of an FDA-approved ED pill cost least? Our cheapest ED page ranks the lowest monthly bill instead, and the ED price page lists every plan.
Cheapest per dose, program by program
Every row is an FDA-approved generic, read on the program's own page on October 31, 2026. Compounded chews and mints are left out on purpose (see below).
| Route | Drug | Price per dose | How you pay | Visit included? | Subscription |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strut Health | Generic sildenafil | $1.60 | $16 a month, billed as a 90-day supply | Yes | Auto refill, cancel 48 hours before processing |
| Rex MD | Generic sildenafil | $1.80 | Monthly refill packs, total not published | Yes | Pause or cancel any time |
| Rex MD | Daily generic tadalafil | $1.80 | Monthly refills | Yes | Pause or cancel any time |
| Lemonaid Health | Generic sildenafil or tadalafil | $2 | Per pill, plus a one-time $25 consult | Consult on top | Cancel any time; can send to your pharmacy |
| Strut Health | Generic tadalafil | $2.40 | $24 a month on the 90-day supply | Yes | Auto refill |
| Ro | Generic sildenafil | $4 | Monthly or quarterly shipments | Yes | No sign-up or cancellation fee |
| Hims | Generic sildenafil | $4 per use | Paid upfront in full | Yes | Cancel 2 days before renewal |
| Cost Plus Drugs | Sildenafil 20 mg, 30 tablets | $0.22 | $6.72 a pack, plus shipping | No: your own prescription | None |
| Cost Plus Drugs | Tadalafil 5 mg, 30 tablets | $0.20 | $5.97 a pack, plus shipping | No: your own prescription | None |
Two caveats sit behind the lowest program figures. Strut's lowest price is on its lowest strength and a 90-day supply. Rex MD's "as low as" figure also depends on strength and pack, and its own product page quotes a slightly higher "from" price per use.
Cheapest with no subscription
Searchers ask for ED pills online "no subscription" and "one time purchase". No program we track sells a single pack with no plan attached, but several make leaving easy:
- Ro says on its how-it-works page: "There’s no sign-up fee or cancellation fee; you can start or stop treatment any time." (Ro)
- Rex MD says: "We offer the flexibility to pause or cancel your subscription at any time." (Rex MD FAQ)
- Strut Health says: "Subscriptions can be cancelled with 48 hours notice before processing." (Strut FAQ)
The only true no-subscription route is the cash pharmacy below, which needs a prescription first. Every program's cancellation cutoff and refund rule is in our guide to cancelling an ED subscription.
- FDA-approved and compounded
- No FDA warning letter found
- No state list published
Sending the prescription to your own pharmacy
"ED meds online sent to pharmacy" is the cheapest pattern for many men: an online visit for the prescription, then a cash pharmacy for the pills.
Lemonaid builds its ED service around it. Its doctors or nurse practitioners can "send it to your local pharmacy same day" after an online assessment (Lemonaid Health). Ro says members "can choose to pick up medication at their own pharmacy" instead of using its pharmacy network (Ro).
Check the price before you switch. Strut warns that "If you choose to pick up your prescription from your own pharmacy instead, your medication could be 3 to 4 times as expensive." (Strut FAQ) That is true at a retail counter price. It is not true at a cost-based pharmacy.
The floor: Cost Plus Drugs with your own prescription
Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs sells generic sildenafil and tadalafil at close to manufacturing cost. Its lowest and highest sildenafil strengths cost almost the same per tablet ($0.22 and $0.22), and tadalafil 20 mg tablets come to $0.22 each. Shipping is charged per order, and it does not prescribe.
A urologist who studied direct-to-consumer ED pricing compared the telehealth starter packs with that floor: "That was compared with 33 cents from Cost Plus Drug Company." He added that "2 out of 3 of the direct-to-consumer pharmacies require a 6- or 12-month commitment to obtain those prices, whereas Cost Plus Drug Company requires no long-term commitment." (Urology Times)
We earn nothing from Cost Plus Drugs. The full price list for ED and hair loss tablets is in our Cost Plus Drugs guide.
Why a cheap chew is not the cheapest pill
Chewables, mints and sublingual tablets often advertise a low entry price. BlueChew's SIL sublingual tablet starts at $3.53 a tablet, above the generic tablets in the table. They are also a different kind of product. The FDA told BlueChew in September 2025: "Compounded drug products are not FDA-approved." (FDA warning letter to BlueChew)
Generic sildenafil tablets, by contrast, are approved against the Viagra label, which is "indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction" (DailyMed: Viagra label). If price per dose is your main test, the FDA-approved generic wins at every program we track.
How to pay the least
- No prescription yet: start with the lowest per-dose program in the table, or the cheapest monthly plan on our cheapest ED page.
- Have a prescription: price Cost Plus Drugs first, then compare the program refill price.
- Need both: use a program that sends the prescription to the pharmacy you pick.
- Hate long plans: check the cutoff and refund terms before you pay for 90 days upfront.
Your prescriber chooses the drug and strength. This page compares prices only.
Questions
FAQ
What is the cheapest ED medication online?
Generic sildenafil at $1.60 a dose from Strut Health is the lowest per-dose price we found with the visit included. With your own prescription, Cost Plus Drugs is cheaper still at $0.22 a tablet before shipping. Both are FDA-approved generic sildenafil.
What is the cheapest generic Viagra online?
Generic Viagra is sildenafil. Among programs that include the online visit, Strut Health publishes the lowest price per dose, $1.60, on a 90-day supply. Every program's sildenafil price is on our [sildenafil price page](/price/sildenafil).
Can I buy ED meds online with no subscription?
Not as a one-off pack from the programs we track: each sells a plan that renews. Ro, Rex MD and Lemonaid all say you can stop at any time. A cash pharmacy such as Cost Plus Drugs has no plan at all, but it needs a prescription you already hold.
Can an online doctor send my ED prescription to a local pharmacy?
Yes, at some programs. Lemonaid says its clinicians can send the prescription to your local pharmacy the same day, and Ro says members can pick up at their own pharmacy. Ask for it before the visit, since the default at most programs is their own mail-order pharmacy.
Is cheap ED medication online safe?
Cheap is fine when a licensed clinician prescribes it and a licensed US pharmacy fills it. Generic sildenafil already costs cents to make, so low prices are normal. The risk sits with sites that skip the prescription; our guide on [buying ED pills safely](/guides/is-buying-ed-pills-online-safe) shows how to check.
Is tadalafil or sildenafil cheaper online?
Per dose, the cheapest sildenafil and the cheapest daily tadalafil are close: $1.60 against $1.80. As-needed tadalafil usually costs more per dose than sildenafil at the same program. Our [daily vs as-needed tadalafil guide](/guides/daily-tadalafil-cost) works out the monthly totals. For the full ranking on price, care and record, see [the best men's health programs](/best).
