Quick answer
Generic Viagra (sildenafil) costs from $1.60 per dose at online programs that include the visit (Strut Health), and about $0.22 per tablet at Cost Plus Drugs (table below) if you already have a prescription. The gap is the price of the consult, the prescription and delivery. Prices checked October 31, 2026.

Below: every published per-pill price, what each one includes, and when a program is worth paying for. For the full monthly picture across ED treatments, see our ED price page.

Generic sildenafil per pill, program by program

Each price is quoted from the program's own page on October 31, 2026. "Per dose" is the program's stated figure, or our arithmetic from a stated total and count, which the program's review notes. Strength matters: many programs quote their lowest per-dose price on the lowest strength.

Program Lowest per dose Cheapest all-in monthly plan Visit included? Notes
Strut Health $1.60 $16 Yes 90-day supply of 30 doses
Rex MD $1.80 Not published Yes Its pages also say "from $2 per use"
Lemonaid Health $2 Not all in One-time consult on top One consult covers 12 refills
Ro $4 $32 Yes Higher strengths cost more per dose
Hims $4 per use $22 Yes Monthly plan paid upfront
PeterMD $6 Not all in Unclear Sold in packs of 10 to 30 tablets
GoodRx Care Not published $18 Yes Price from launch coverage

All of these dispense FDA-approved generic sildenafil. The compounded options some of the same programs sell are left out of this table on purpose; they are below.

The drug on its own: cash prices with your own prescription

Seller Item Price per tablet Pack price What is not included
Cost Plus Drugs Sildenafil 20 mg, 30 tablets $0.22 $6.72 Shipping; you need your own prescription
Cost Plus Drugs Sildenafil 100 mg, 30 tablets $0.22 $6.69 Shipping; you need your own prescription

We earn nothing from Cost Plus Drugs and do not rank it, because it does not prescribe. Its listed price is the manufacturing cost plus a fixed markup and a pharmacy fee, which is why its 20 mg tablets and 100 mg tablets cost almost the same.

A physician who studied telehealth ED pricing described the same gap. Talking about sildenafil from direct-to-consumer pharmacies, he said: "That was compared with 33 cents from Cost Plus Drug Company." (Urology Times)

Why one program shows several prices

Three things move the per-pill figure:

  • Strength. Programs often price the lowest strength lowest and charge more for higher ones. Ro, for example, lists separate per-dose prices for each strength. Your prescriber picks the strength, not the price page.
  • Pack size and plan length. Strut's lowest figure is on a 90-day supply of 30 doses. Its 30-day plans cost more per dose.
  • What is bundled. Most programs fold the visit and shipping into the price. Lemonaid quotes the pill price and charges a one-time consult on top. PeterMD sells packs and its pages disagree on whether a consult fee applies.

Generic, brand or compounded

Generic sildenafil tablets are approved by the FDA against the same standard as Viagra, whose label says it is "indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction" (DailyMed: Viagra label). Branded Viagra is the same molecule at a much higher price; Ro and Rex MD both list it.

Sildenafil chews, mints and sublingual tablets are different. They are compounded, and the FDA has said "Compounded drug products are not FDA-approved." (FDA warning letter to BlueChew). Their per-dose prices on our ED price page are labelled as compounded.

Safety facts the label puts first

The price does not change the drug's risks. The Viagra label lists organic nitrates as a contraindication, warning that "VIAGRA was shown to potentiate the hypotensive effect of nitrates", and tells patients they "should seek emergency treatment if an erection lasts" too long (DailyMed: Viagra label). A real online program asks about heart disease and nitrates before prescribing. A site that never asks is not a pharmacy you should use.

We do not give doses. Your prescriber chooses the strength and how often you take it.

When paying a program makes sense

  • You have no prescription yet. A program gets you one, often for little more than the cash price of a few months of pills.
  • You want refills without another appointment. Most programs renew automatically; check the cancellation cutoff first.
  • You want the cheapest refills. Ask the program to send the prescription to a cash pharmacy. Ro and Lemonaid both say they can.

Questions

FAQ

How much is generic Viagra per pill online?

From $1.60 per dose at Strut Health, with the visit included. With your own prescription, Cost Plus Drugs lists about $0.22 per 20 mg tablet before shipping.

Is generic sildenafil the same as Viagra?

It is the same active drug, approved by the FDA as a generic of Viagra. Compounded sildenafil chews are not FDA-approved generics.

Why is sildenafil so much cheaper at Cost Plus Drugs?

Because it sells only the drug, at manufacturing cost plus a fixed markup and fee, and needs a prescription you already have. Online programs add the clinician, the prescription and delivery.

What is the cheapest monthly sildenafil plan with the visit included?

Strut Health at $16 a month (Generic sildenafil 25 mg, 90-day supply (30 doses), $48 per 90 days, auto refill). Every plan is on our [cheapest ED page](/cheapest/ed).

Can I get generic Viagra without a prescription?

Not legally in the US. Sites that sell it without one are where counterfeit and contaminated pills turn up; see our guide on [whether buying ED pills online is safe](/guides/is-buying-ed-pills-online-safe).

Does insurance cover generic Viagra?

Some private plans do; Medicare Part D plans cannot cover ED drugs used for ED. Online programs are almost all cash only, and cash prices for the generic are low.
